Steven K. Tsuchida was born and raised
in Honolulu, Hawaii.
After earning a BFA in advertising from California State University,
Long Beach, Steven spent the next 5 years in New York City as an
Art Director in Advertising.
He then moved back to Los Angeles earning an MFA in film from
Art Center, Pasadena.
Since then, Steven has directed commercials through Oil Factory
Inc - earning accolades from: Cannes, The Clio Awards, The Addys,
and The One Show.
Steven's two short films, "A Ninja Pays Half My Rent" and "Spam-ku:
I won a haiku contest about spam" continues to play around
the world -- so far playing in over 60 festivals, including: Sundance,
SXSW, New Directors/New films at the Lincoln Center, Hawaii International
Film Festival, Denver International Film Festival, Stockholm International
Film Festival, Independent Film Festival of Boston, Philadelphia
International Film Festival, The Deauville Film Festival, Edinburgh
and the HBO U.S. Comedy Arts Festival.
Steven has earned a place on Filmaker Magazine's annual "25 Filmmakers
To Watch" list.
Steven continues to live in what is universally regarded as the cultural
epicenter of the world, Los Angeles. |
